Several years ago a friend gave me a box of assorted macarons as a gift. I loved the beautiful colors of the dainty round confections (crisp on the outside with a soft, moist, flavorful filling) and the way they perfectly fit into the long skinny box...I loved biting into each bright little gem, and discovering what flavor they were...it was the perfect gift! Some time after that, a girlfriend and I took a macaron baking class at my local cookware store and I was hooked! With that quick 2 hour foundation, I set out to learn all I could about perfecting my baking of these delightful cookies...I practiced, and practiced, and tried numerous recipes (and had many failures!) until I was satisfied with my end product. I then began baking macarons for my family and friends (my husband has Celiac Disease, so the fact that macarons are naturally gluten free was a huge plus!)...and my business was born! I am always striving to improve my product...on a recent trip to Paris I took an intensive macaron class at La Cuisine Paris! I love the precision required to master these finicky little delicacies, and I still love the "wow factor" of a box of macarons...Oh la la, c'est tres jolie!
